Health & Nutrition - - JUST LAUNCHED -

My mother has Alzheimer’s Disease and lives in an old-age care unit. I used to take her out for lunch, but she no longer leaves the facility and doesn’t talk much. What’s the best way to spend time with her?

R C Nair, Chennai Your mother is suffering from a disease, which shows a gradual degeneration of the brain tissue. The patient’s behaviour also changes along with the loss of brain tissue and the patient will not able to carry out daily activities well. They also lose the capacity to relate to their loved ones. Unfortunately, this is a progressive disease and we have no specific treatment for it.
