JEEP-BUS CRASH KILLS 17 IN BIKANER
BIKANER: At least 17 persons, including three women, were killed and one injured when a private bus rammed into an overloaded jeep in Hanumangarh district of Bikaner division on Friday. The incident took place in the morning about 18 km from Hanumangarh town. The injured were rushed to the government hospital.
EYEWITNESSES SAID THAT ALMOST ALL PASSENGERS IN THE JEEP DIED ON THE SPOT
BIKANER: At least 17 persons, including three women, were killed and one injured when a private bus rammed into an overloaded jeep in Hanumangarh district of Bikaner division on Friday.
The incident took place in the morning about 18 km from Hanumangarh town. The injured were rushed to the government hospital. Eyewitnesses said that almost all passengers in the jeep died on the spot.
The accident took place around 9.45 am when the jeep collided with a bus near Matoriyo Ki Dhani of Lakhuwali village of the district.
According to sources, the deceased were residents of Ravatsar and Lakhuwali area and 16 were identified according to the latest updates while one person is yet to be identified.
District collector Prakash Rajpurohit said that the jeep was overtaking a bus and collided with another bus coming from the opposite direction.
A relief of ₹50,000 each for the deceased and ₹10,000 for the injured was announced by the administration.
