Every day while travelling, I see observe the emotions of people. Often I find them sad, angry or most of the time, engrossed with their smartphones. They are so engaged in themselves that they ignore the other person travelling with them. It is justified to be busy in this globalised world. But during a commute, we should attempt to maintain a beautiful smile that can make a stranger’s day.

When you interact with people on the same journey it can have a lot of advantages. The same person, sitting next to you, can help you with your problems if you talk to them and can take away the sadness of your life.

By just talking, we can share our burden of the adversities that look us in the face. Everyone has been through a lot and each one of us is a struggler. And if we unite or get support from someone, our chances of getting successful double.

Also, the long commute passes like sand when we interact with someone. We should always try to wear a smile as it soothes our mind and when we talk to someone we look confident. In western countries, people are friendly. We need to learn something from their attitude towards each other. The saying Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means that the entire earth is a family, signifies our culture’s emphasis on treating each other as a family.
