Harvard doc proposes genome technology for cancer treatment
CHANDIGARH: In an attempt to facilitate treatment of cancer for patients in the state, assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, Dr Manoj K Bhasin on Monday called on chief minister Amarinder Singh and proposed genome technology to the state government. The chief minister assured the medical expert of support from his government to take forward the venture. An official spokesperson said the CM also gave in-principle nod to Dr Bhasin’s proposal to initiate a programme of meditation and yoga for drug addicts in one of the drug addiction and rehabilitation centres as a pilot project. Dr Bhaisn also proposed collaboration between Harvard Medical School and the upcoming Tata Medical Centre in Mullanpur (near New Chandigarh).
