Harsimrat opens passport office in Bathinda, flays CM
BATHINDA: Union minister for food processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Sunday made a public appearance in her Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency as she inaugurated a regional passport office at the general post office.
She used the occasion to mount a political attack on the Congress government, claiming that it had no intention to honour its promise of waiving of loans of farmers.
Taking a dig at chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, she dubbed his visit to beleaguered cotton growers in Mansa as "a drama', saying the Congress government had not been able to resolve the "ever-escalating problems of the farmers".
“The number of incidents of farmer suicides was increasing with the Amarinder Singh government going directionless,” she added.
She counted the laying of foundation stones of the AIIMS hospital and the upcoming airport in Bathind as major achievements of the Modi government at the Centre.
