Tarn Taran police crack Axis Bank dacoity cases, 2 held
POLICE RECOVERED ₹4L, 625GM HEROIN, TWO PISTOLS, 4 CARTRIDGES, 1,800 INTOXICANT TABLETS AND A CAR FROM KEY ACCUSED
TARNTARAN: The district police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked three dacoity cases, including two in Axis Bank branches in Ta rn Tar an, with the arrest of two members, including a woman, of robbers’ gang from Gandiwind village ,30 km from here and Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar here. The male accused is kingpin of he gang.
The police have recovered ₹4 lakh, 625gm heroin, two pistols, four cartridges, 1,800 intoxicant tablets and a car from the possession of the key accused. The arrested accused are Sakandarpal Singh of Gan di wind and RanbirKauro fT a rn Taran, who is mother of one of the gang members, Pun jab Singh.
However, four members of the gang, Punjab Singh of Tarn Taran, Jobanjit Singh and Jaswant Kaur of Havellian village, and Sarabj it Singh of Tar nT ar an are yet to be arrested.
SSP Darshan Singh Mann, addressing a press conference, said, “The gang had committed three dacoities in the district, in thepasttwomonths.Theylooted ₹6 lakhfrom a branchof the Axis Bank at Ghurkwind village on November 3, ₹7 lakh from the Axis Bank branch in Naurangabad village on December 15 and around₹7,000fromAutoFuelstation employees at Sarhali on November 5.”
“Theaccusedhadalreadybeen booked under sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 379-B (punishment for theft) of IPC and 25-27-54-59 of the Arms Act,” he added.
