THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK
Release: 1997, Directed by Steven Spielberg
Plot: Set four years after the original film, this showed what happens when a group of humans try to capture the cloned dinosaurs who have been roaming free in Isla Sorna and bring them to the mainland.
Box-office: Hit. Had the biggest opening weekend collections in the US at the time, though its overall collections were less than that of the first one.
JURASSIC PARK III
Release: 2011, Directed by Joe Johnston
Plot: A divorced couple gets palaeontologist Alan Grant to go back to Isla Sorna to look for their son.
Box-office: Got mixed reviews. The lowest-rated film of the franchise.
JURASSIC WORLD
Release: 2015, Directed by Colin Trevorrow
Plot: What happens when two brothers visit the site of the original Jurassic Park where a new theme park named Jurassic World has opened? Box-office: Hit. Highest gross earnings among all Jurassic Park films till then.
JURASSIC WORLD: THE FALLEN KINGDOM
Release: 2018, Directed by JA Bayona
Plot: When a volcano threatens to erupt on the island on which Jurassic World had been built, a campaign starts to save the dinosaurs.
