Forest officials inspect tree cutting at BJP office site

GURUGRAM: A team of forest officials on Wednesday visited Silokhra village for inspection a day after local residents launched a protest against the alleged cutting of trees for the construction of a BJP office in the area.

A team led by range forest officer Naresh Kataria collected pictures from the time before the construction started and shot videos of the current topography so that the two could be compared to check the damage to the green cover. “The contractor had been granted permission to cut four trees on Tuesday. I have collected old pictures of the site and will get it examined whether trees have been cut before permission was granted or not,” he said. HTC
