KARNAL NURSE HELD FOR EXTORTION, BLACKMAIL
KARNAL: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Yamunanagar police have arrested a woman for alleged extortion and blackmailing people.
The accused was identified as Seema, 30, alias Simmi, a resident of Gumthala village of the district. She works as a nurse at a private hospital in Yamunanagar.
Police said a person named Chetan Kumar filed a complaint alleging that the accused was blackmailing him for the past four years and he had already paid her ₹4 lakh.
He alleged that now she was demanding ₹50,000 more and threatening to file a police complaint of rape.
Reacting on the complaint, the police conducted a raid and arrested her with ₹50,000. Kumar said he works as a medical representative and had met the accused in the hospital four years ago following which, they became friend and started talking on phone.
But few months later, she started blackmailing him, he alleged. He said that she was mentally harassing him. The investigation officer and CIA II in-charge, Shri Bhagwan, said that the accused was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
During investigation, the police found that the woman had married three men and later left them after taking huge sums as alimony from them.
