BA stu­dent raped on pre­text of govt job in Lud­hi­ana

LUD­HI­ANA: The Sam­rala po­lice on Satur­day booked a man, who claimed to be a min­ing of­fi­cer, and his ac­com­plice for al­legedly rap­ing a 20-year-old col­lege stu­dent from Chandi­garh.

The vic­tim told po­lice that she met ac­cused Ra­jvir Singh two months ago. He al­legedly told her that he could se­cure a job for her in the min­ing de­part­ment and told her to come to Sam­rala on July 26.

When she reached there, his ac­com­plice Amar­jit Singh al­legedly served food laced with seda­tives and raped.

“First, the FIR was reg­is­tered in Kir­tarpur Sahib, from where it has been shifted to Sam­rala as the crime took place here,” said in­spec­tor Bhupin­der Singh, Sam­rala SHO. HTC
