MEERUT: Two men were arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping their 16-year-old sister over a period of four years.

The victim, a Class 12 student, had accused her brothers of repeatedly raping her. As evidence, the girl had submitted a video clip of the assault to police.

“Both brothers were arrested and sent to jail on charges of committing rape with their sister,” superintendent of police (city) Ranvijay Singh said.

Police said the girl’s father died a few years ago and she remained silent because the accused had threatened to eliminate her and their mother if she approached the police.

The mother had advised the girl to make a video clip to frame the brothers. She then contacted an activist who helped her approach the police.

The girl met the SP at his office on Wednesday and gave him a written complaint against her brothers.

In her complaint, the girl has accused the brothers (aged 21 and 23 years) of sexually exploiting her for four years. “I am fed up of their misdeed and can’t tolerate it anymore,” she had written in her complaint.

SCHOOL ‘REFUSES’ TO ADMIT RAPE SURVIVOR

A private school in Dehradun allegedly denied admission to a 16-year-old girl because she was gang-raped in a boarding school recently, the rape survivor’s lawyer has said, demanding cancellation of its CBSE affiliation.

Advocate Aruna Negi Chauhan wrote a letter to chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and state education minister Arvind Pandey, urging them to take “strict legal action” against the school. “Her parents tried to get her admission into many schools, but they all refused... one school categorically told them that they cannot give admission to her as she is a rape victim,” she said.

The girl was allegedly gang raped by four students of her former boarding school on August 14.
