Capt Abhimanyu seeks report on crop damage
CHANDIGARH: Haryana revenue and disaster management minister Capt Abhimanyu on Friday directed the officers concerned to prepare an assessment report on the damage caused to crops due to heavy rain and hailstorm in the state on Thursday, in order to provide relief to the affected farmers.
In a statement, Capt Abhimanyu said he had received reports through various sources that crops had been damaged due to heavy rains, experienced in the various parts of the state on January 7.
Taking immediate initiative in this regard, he directed the revenue and disaster management department to prepare a comprehensive report of losses due to the rain and hailstorm.

After getting the report, a special girdawari would be conducted in the affected areas so that the farmers concerned could be provided compensation.
