9 dreaded gangsters held by Rohtak police

ROHTAK :The Rohtak police have arrested nine dreaded gangsters of the Rajesh Bawana gang in two separate incidents.
Rohtak superintendent of police (SP) Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said seven members of the gang were arrested by the crime investigation agency (CIA) wing from a secluded plot on Thursday night when they were planning their next loot at a petrol pump. The two others were held from Jasia village later.
All the nine accused are associated with Rajesh Bawana gang whose kingpin is currently lodged in jail. The arrested seven members of the gang have been identified as Ritik and Mohit of Rohtak, Deepak of Sonepat, Ravi and Arjun of Jhajjar, Sandeep of Kaithal and Manish of Delhi.
All seven of them were involved in the recent heist at Kotak Mahindra Bank in Rohtak on the New Year’s eve, from where they looted Rs 7 lakh at gunpoint.
Randhawa said during the police’s night domination drive, they received a tip-off about the seven planning their next robbery at a petrol pump. A police team was sent to their location and nabbed them.
The police seized five country made pistols, two guns and seven live cartridges from their possession.
The seven members are history-sheeters and have 11 criminal cases registered against them in various districts of Haryana.
The other two gangsters held from Jasia, identified as Sagar and Shekhar, were among the five sharp-shooters who had clashed with cops last week in Rohtak.
While three of their accomplices were arrested by the police then, these two had managed to flee.
The police said both Sagar and Shekhar are involved in at least 20 cases of murder, loot and dacoity.
The nine gangsters were produced in court on Friday, from where they were sent to judicial remand.
