AM­RIT­SAR: The Tarn Taran po­lice on Satur­day ar­rested Gur­dev Singh, the prime ac­cused in the case of fraud­u­lently send­ing four Pun­jabis to Armenia.

Gur­dev was ar­rested fol­low­ing a tip-off. He was on his way to Piddi vil­lage in his SUV when the cops nabbed him after a brief chase, said se­nior su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice Dar­shan Singh Mann.

Gur­dev, a res­i­dent of Bu­tala vil­lage in Ka­purthala, was a mid­dle­man be­tween the vic­tims and two agents—Param­jeet and Harpreet 1 ac­cord­ing to an FIR reg­is­tered in the Bho­lath po­lice sta­tion. Jaswinder Singh of Beas and Koma­ldeep of Jan­di­ala in Am­rit­sar have al­ready been ar­rested in the case.
