Car service station worker held hostage, robbed of ₹76,000

AMBALA: Four armed robbers held an employee of a car service station hostage in Jagadhari city on late Friday night and robbed him of Rs 76,000, besides looting some spare parts, the police said.
In his complaint to the police, Ashwani Chhabra, the owner of a service station, said he had gone to Delhi on Friday night for family work.
“At around 12 am in the morning, Ramphal, an employee working at my car service station, called me up and said four persons are pressured him to open the gate of the premises. After that, they held him captive in a room and took the DVR out from the CCTV. Later, they beat him up and set fire to some items stored there. They also robbed him of Rs76,000 and looted some spare parts from the station,” he said.
ASI Rajpal said the police have registered a case against four unidentified persons under Sections 392(robbery) and 436(mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
