Car ser­vice sta­tion worker held hostage, robbed of ₹76,000

FOUR ARMED ROB­BERS STRUCK AT THE SER­VICE STA­TION IN JA­GADHRI AT MID­NIGHT AND ROBBED ITS EM­PLOYEE

AMBALA: Four armed rob­bers held an em­ployee of a car ser­vice sta­tion hostage in Ja­gad­hari city on late Fri­day night and robbed him of Rs 76,000, be­sides loot­ing some spare parts, the po­lice said.

In his com­plaint to the po­lice, Ash­wani Ch­habra, the owner of a ser­vice sta­tion, said he had gone to Delhi on Fri­day night for fam­ily work.

“At around 12 am in the morn­ing, Ram­phal, an em­ployee work­ing at my car ser­vice sta­tion, called me up and said four per­sons are pres­sured him to open the gate of the premises. After that, they held him cap­tive in a room and took the DVR out from the CCTV. Later, they beat him up and set fire to some items stored there. They also robbed him of Rs76,000 and looted some spare parts from the sta­tion,” he said.

ASI Ra­j­pal said the po­lice have reg­is­tered a case against four uniden­ti­fied per­sons un­der Sec­tions 392(rob­bery) and 436(mis­chief by fire or ex­plo­sive sub­stance with in­tent to de­stroy house) of the In­dian Pe­nal Code (IPC).
