THREE CRPF PER­SON­NEL AMONG 11 IN­JURED IN SRI­NA­GAR GRENADE AT­TACK

SRI­NA­GAR: Eleven peo­ple, in­clud­ing four po­lice­men and three Cen­tral Re­serve Po­lice Force (CRPF) per­son­nel, were in­jured in a grenade at­tack by sus­pected mil­i­tants in Sri­na­gar on Sun­day, po­lice said.

Po­lice spokesper­son Manoj Ku­mar said that they rushed to Pal­a­dium Cinema in Maisuma area of Lal Chowk fol­low­ing re­ports of a grenade at­tack by ter­ror­ists. Sources said that an as­sis­tant sub-in­spec­tor and two con­sta­bles of 132 bat­tal­ion were among the three in­jured Cen­tral Re­serve Po­lice Force per­son­nel.

The in­jured civil­ians, in­clud­ing two women, were iden­ti­fied as Hu­maira, Tal­iba Gul­shan, Ab­dul Qay­oom and Shadab Shah.

The in­jured were shifted to the hos­pi­tal for treat­ment. “They are stated to be sta­ble,” the po­lice spokesper­son said.

A case in this re­gard was reg­is­tered and of­fi­cials are try­ing to es­tab­lish cir­cum­stances of the at­tack. Po­lice have re­quested peo­ple to as­sist them if they have any in­for­ma­tion that can help in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
