FARIDKOT:: Punjab Police inspector Pardeep Singh, accused in the Behbal Kalan firing case, on Tuesday applied for anticipatory bail in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The court will hear the matter on Wednesday.

On February 2, the Faridkot district and sessions court had dismissed the bail application of then Fazilka superintendent of police (SP detective) Bikramjit Singh, and sub-inspector Amarjit Singh Kular, the then Bajakhana station house officer (SHO) besides inspector Pardeep, who was reader to then Moga SSP Charanjit Singh Sharma, in the case.

They moved the petition after the special investigation team (SIT) of the Punjab Police probing the police firing cases summoned the three to appear before it on January 29 in Chandigarh but they failed to turn up.

Charanjit Sharma, also named as an accused in the case, was arrested by SIT from his Hoshiarpur residence on January 27.
