TOUGH FIGHT BREWING IN UP

-

Apropos ‘Congress faces a steep climb in UP’, (February 11), all political parties will put in their might to win from there, as it offers the largest single chunk of Lok Sabha seats. The Congress has to frame a clear policy to attract voters. Caste and religion will play an important role. The BJP is trying to woo voters on the basis of religion, while the alliance is concentrating on caste-based votes. Voters are divided and the Congress needs to be decisive in its political planning to win traction. Priyanka Gandhi can be a boon for the Congress in the UP only if the party is able to satisfy other castes and its core constituency sticks to it.
