SPORTS UNIVERSITY

The cabinet also approved the establishment of a sports university for promoting sports education, besides functioning as the training centre for select sports disciplines by adopting best international practices.

RIGHTS OF DISABLED

The cabinet approved the Haryana Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2019 under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The rules lay down enabling provisions for the protection of persons with disabilities like the establishment of a state fund, appointment of a state advisory committee, a committee for research on disability.

REGIONAL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM

It also approved the proposal regarding implementation of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB Corridor of Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). Besides approving the implementation of Sarai-Kale-Khan Gurugram-SNB Corridor of RRTS, the cabinet also approved allowing additional purchasable FAR of up to 1.25 within the project influence zone of 1.5 km radius around the RRTS stations and gross contribution of Rs 6,436 crore as state government’s share towards the project cost.

SPL PROVISIONS FOR NCR DISTS

The cabinet approved the draft of the Haryana Laws (Special Provisions) Bill, 2019 to make special provisions for all districts of Haryana falling under National Capital Region (NCR) for a year. An official spokesperson said the proposed law will help phase out diesel propelled tractors and combine harvesters in NCR districts of Haryana in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court.

AID TO FEMALE VICTIMS OF ACID ATTACK

It also amended the eligibility criteria for giving financial assistance to female victims of acid attack. An official spokesperson said that as per the amendment, the government employees will not be eligible for financial assistance under the scheme. Also, the victims who have permanent disability certification will be eligible for monthly pension.
