Vigilance nabbed 15 employees for graft in Jan

Chandigarh The state vigilance bureau (SVB) caught 15 employees, five from police and three from revenue department, red-handed in 11 different traps in January. Chief director-cum-additional director general (ADG), SVB, BK Uppal, said the bureau also submitted challans pertaining to 12 vigilance cases in various special courts last month. One vigilance inquiry was also registered to thoroughly probe the corruption cases against public servants. He said special courts decided two bribery cases in which six accused – Sarabdial Singh, personnel assistant to former minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, Amrik Singh, Dalip Singh, Ninder Singh Sarpanch and bank employees Mohit Sarin and Maninder Singh – were convicted and sentenced to imprisonme­nt up to 4 years with fine.
