POLICE MUST BE COMMITTED TO FIGHT DRUGS

- ramesh.vinayak@hindustantimes.com

The conviction of Jagdish Singh Bhola, an ex-DSP of Punjab police, in a drug racket case raises an important question. How do such people get appointed to such positions of importance, without having a background check done? This is a major systemic failure. There cannot be any meaningful fight against the drug menace, unless the police force is committed and without any black-sheep in its ranks.
