CONSTITUENCY PRIMER

The Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency came into existence following the delimitation of constituencies in 2008. The area has special relevance for Sikhs because the two younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh were bricked alive here. In their memory, a three-day jor mela is organised every year in December.

2014: Harinder Singh Khalsa (AAP) defeated Sadhu Singh Dharamsot by 54,144 votes

2009: Sukhdev Singh Libra (Cong) beat Charanjit Singh Atwal of SAD by 34,299 votes

2004: Sukhdev Singh Libra (SAD) won by 33,637 votes.
