17 govt buildings to get solar panels in Jalandhar
JALANDHAR : Around 17 government buildings in Jalandhar city are all set to have rooftop solar panels under the Smart City Project. Jalandhar Smart City Limited CEO Vishesh Sarangal said recently the Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Authority (PMIDC) had given technical clearance to the rooftop solar panels programme for the city.
“Now that we have received the technical clearance for the project, we will soon be floating the tenders for the project. The process of setting up rooftop solar panels will start by March end,” said Sarangal.
The project will be executed in the city at the cost of ₹18 crore, the CEO said.
The official further said Jalandhar Development Authority (JDA) will be the first government office building to have a rooftop solar panel under the project.
