CONSTITUENCY PRIMER

Ferozepur parliamentary seat falls along the International Border with Pakistan. The constituency has National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala where Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were cremated on March 23, 1931. Adjacent to the site is international check post where the Retreat Ceremony is performed daily by the Indian and Pakistani troops.

2014: Sher Singh Ghubaya of SAD defeated Congress’s Sunil Jakhar by 31,420 votes

2009: Ghubaya defeated Cong’s Jagmit Brar by 21,071 votes 2004: Zora Singh Maan of SAD defeated Congress’s Jagmit Brar by 11,529 votes
