CHANDIGARH : The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday asked Congress president Rahul Gandhi to expel Punjab minister Navjot Sidhu from the party for speaking the language of “antinationals by maintaining Pakistan could not be held responsible for the Pulwana terrorist attack and weakening India’s case for action against Pak-sponsored terror in the international community”.

Addressing the media here, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said: “It seems Sony TV and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ organisers are more patriotic than the Congress, which is sitting mutely while its senior minister bats for Pakistan and its terror machine. I want to ask Rahul if he will sit quietly and bear the insult meted out to the country and its soldiers by Sidhu. Sidhu should be sacked promptly or Indians will surmise that his statement was made at the directions of Rahul.”

The Akali leader said chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh was also on test. “Punjabis are eager to know whether the words he (CM) uttered in the Vidhan Sabha on Friday about the stooges of Pakistan army chief are true. If so, he should not wait for Rahul’s assent to remove the Sidhu from his cabinet.”
