BATHINDA: Elementary teachers training (ETT) holders and teachers eligibility test (TET)-pass job aspirants staged a protest in Bathinda on Sunday demanding employment.

The protesters took out a protest march and blocked the Bathinda-Amritsar highway near Hanuman Chowk. They marched towards the camp office of finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal but were stopped by police.

The protesting aspirants alleged that the Congress during the assembly election campaign had promised to provide job in every household but did provide jobs to even those who are qualified.

They said that despite the vacancies to provide jobs to all the qualified ETT and TET pass aspirants the Punjab government wasn’t willing to recruit them.
