SIRSA:Offering tributes to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel killed in a militant attack in Pulwama, Shiroman Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal, on Sunday, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must take strong action against Pakistan.

Addressing a ‘Janchetna’ rally at Sirsa, the SAD chief said, “I appeal to the PM to take the strictest possible action against Pakistan, which is trying to destabilise Jammu and Kashmir like it had tried to do with Punjab in the past. In future, we will not let such plots on soil.”

Urging people to vote for the SAD, Badal said that farmers will be given free power of the party comes to power in Haryana.

He also urged Punjabis to unite and support the SAD, saying that the party has always been on the forefront in the fight for people’s rights.

“Punjabis need a voice in Haryana and SAD is best equipped to represent them. Punjabis could easily decide the outcome of 30 to 40 seats in Haryana. He said that former Punjab chief minister (CM) Parkash Singh Badal had laid the foundation of a welfare state in Punjab by giving free power to farmers and also starting unique schemes like aatadaal. “We will implement the same model in Haryana once we come to power here. SAD is the only party which is totally committed to making each village a model village by ensuring 100% sewerage and water supply,” he added.

Lashing out at the Congress party, he said the grand old party was the biggest enemy of the Sikh community and it was responsible for desecrating Darbar Sahib and indulging in genocide of Sikhs in 1984. SAD’s Haryana unit in-charge Balwinder Singh Bhundar announced that the party would hold rallies in Pehowa and other parts of the state in the coming days. Former minister Sikander Singh Maluka said workers’ meetings would be held across the state in phases and that the party was committed to fight the next assembly elections with or without any alliance with another party.

Kalanwali MLA Balkaur Singh, besides SAD leaders Sharanjit Singh Sotha, Veerbhan Mehta and Kanwanljit Singh Ajrana were also present on the occasion.
