Quack held for working on fake degree in Amritsar

AMRITSAR: A quack, who had been working on fake MD degree in a private hospital here for last three years, has been arrested from Sri Guru Ram Das Ji international airport, police said on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Anish Rau Kamal of Hyderabad. Police said they have also seized the degrees, which had been used by him for working as a doctor.
QUACK NABBED WHILE TRYING TO FLY TO HYDERABAD
A spokesperson of Amritsar police said, “sub-inspector (SI) Harjit Singh of Darshan Avenue police post received a tip-off about the accused on Saturday.
The informer told the SI that the accused was working as a doctor on a fake degree in Holy Heart hospital near Taran wala bridge. The informer also told the police that the accused was also planning to fly to Hyderabad.”
He said soon after getting the information, a police team led by SI Harjit Singh conducted a raid and arrested him from the airport.
“When the team enquired from the accused about the degree on which he had been working as a doctor in the hospital, the accused produced a fake degree. The quack also failed to produce any document for practising medicine in Punjab,” said Harjit Singh
ACCUSED WORKED IN TWO MORE HOSPITALS ON FAKE DOCUS
According to the police, Anish had been working in the hospital for the last three years. “During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had also worked at private hospitals in Jalandhar and Tarn Taran after personating as a doctor ,” said SI Harjit Singh.
He further said, “We are investigating the degrees of Anish thoroughly.
For now, a case under Sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 170 (personating a public servant) and 171 (wearing garb or carrying token used by public servant with fraudulent intent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.”
