RAP OVER TEA DEMAND

-

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA from Sahnewal Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon

had to face anger of his MLA colleague and former finance minister Parminder Singh

Dhindsa when he wanted Chandi- garh Police to serve tea during a dharna held by the party to seek compensation for the families of farm suicide victims. Dhindsa, Dhillon and other Akali MLAs on their way to join SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and others — who were sitting on a road leading to the state assembly — were stopped by the city police. A lady police inspector, who was leading the charge, kept on arguing with the MLAs that they won’t be allowed to proceed. The MLAs insisted but were not allowed. They sat there in protest. Dhillon, who is also a former minister, asked the lady inspector about serving tea to the MLAs. “Nhi jaan dena te chaa hi pila deyo,” he said to see Dhindsa react in anger. “Tenu har velle chaa di payi rehndi yaar. Sanu eh rok ke baithe hai, te tussin chaa mang rhe ho,” Dhindsa was heard telling his party colleague.
