SUPERSTITION GETS BETTER OF POLITICIANS

-

Politicians rarely spill the beans on each other. A debate on the proposed law in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to curb superstition saw the legislators reveal secrets of each other. BJP MLA Som Prakash, who moved the private member’s bill last week, was on the back foot as a Congress MLA accused him of hiding his precious stone before proposing the law. Others on treasury and opposition benches also threw barbs at each other for wearing amulets, precious stones and threads and altering entrance to their homes for good fortune and to ward off evil. Cabinet minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Congress MLA Kuljit Nagra and SAD MLAs Pawan Tinu and NK Sharma were among those whose names came up for being superstitious.
