GRP personnel beat up passengers in Darjeeling
MALDA: General Railway Police (GRP) personnel allegedly beat up several passengers of Kolkatabound Darjeeling mail on Saturday night at Malda town station. Passengers said after some of them protested against GRP personnel collecting fines ranging from ₹700 to ₹1,200 from passengers they allegedly spotted smoking in the train toilets, without issuing receipts. Inspector-in-charge of GRP (Malda town), Bhaskar Pradhan, however, denied the charges.
