8-YEAR-OLD GIRL KILLED WHILE CROSSING ROAD

JALANDHAR: An eight-year-old girl was killed and her elder sister was injured after being hit by a car while crossing the Jalandhar–Amritsar highway on Sunday . The driver of the vehicle drove the sisters to the hospital after the accident. However, Ragini died during treatment and her sister Vandana, 14, is still undergoing treatment.

Police said they are recording the statements of the driver, victim and eye witness, following which they will pursue legal action.

“We have handed over the body to the family after conducting postmortem investigations,” said police.
