Four visitors hurt in clash at AIIMS, 5 security guards apprehende­d

NEW DELHI: Four relatives and friends of a minor girl undergoing treatment at AIIMS trauma centre were injured after being thrashed by security guards and bouncers of the hospital on Sunday afternoon, police said.

An FIR was filed against the guards and bouncers under sections of assault, wrongful restraint and molestatio­n. “We have apprehende­d five guards and are in the process of arresting them. We are also checking CCTV footage to identify the other assailants,” said Devender Arya, deputy commission­er of police .

The clash began around 3pm when the kin of a 14-year-old, who had undergone a spine surgery after falling off a building earlier this week , came to visit her at the hospital.As per the police, a female relative of the patient was caught trying to enter the hospital using the identity card of another person.

“The woman was taken to security officials who verified her identity and cancelled her pass. The clash began after that,” said the officer.
