HP CONGRESS: DOORS OPEN FOR ANIL SHARMA

-

SHIMLA: Days after Himachal Pradesh’s power minister, Anil Sharma resigned from Jai Ram Thakur cabinet, the state unit of Congress said its doors are open for the former minister to rejoin the party.

“Anil Sharma can join Congress anytime he wants to,” said Himachal Pradesh Congress committee (HPCC) chief spokesperson Naresh Chauhan while addressing a press conference here. Anil Sharma quit the BJP cabinet on Friday, days after the Congress named his son Aashray Sharma as its candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha segment. Sharma, however, did not resign from the BJP nor as a member of the legislative assembly.

Chauhan said the party would welcome Sharma’s re-entry, adding that the former minister would be able to campaign for his son Aashray, who is contesting polls on Congress ticket, if he takes the decision. The Congress leader also lashed out at CM Jai Ram Thakur for politicising Sharma’s situation, saying the latter and his family was pressurised and defamed in public. HTC
