THE DECEASED WAS IDENTIFIED AS A RESIDENT OF DELHI, WHO WENT MISSING ON NOVEMBER 10; BODY HANDED OVER TO DELHI POLICE

KARNAL: The decomposed body of a woman in her early 20s was recovered from an isolated place in Dadlana village of Panipat district, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Nancy, a resident of Delhi, who had gone missing on November 10.

The body was allegedly dumped there by her husband and his two friends, who have been arrested for her murder by the Delhi Police.

The police said there was a bullet injury in her head. The body was handed over to the Delhi Police after autopsy.

The police said as per Nancy’s father Sanjay Sharma, a resident of Delhi’s Janakpuri, she had married accused Sahil Chopra in March this year against their will.

“After she went missing on November 10, I filed a complaint against her husband as he used to harass her for dowry,” the woman’s father said.

On his complaint, the Delhi Police arrested Sahil and his two friends and during questioning, they confessed that they had killed her. The Delhi Police brought them to Panipat to recover Nancy’s body.

Matlauda police station incharge Vikas Kumar said the Delhi Police had contacted them in connection to the murder. “They had brought the accused from Delhi, who guided the police to the place where they had dumped the body. They had brought her body in a car on the intervening night of November 11 and 12 and dumped it near Panipat refinery,” he added.
