CHANDIGARH: Haryana government has decided to observe the year 2020 as “Susashan Sankalp Varsh” during which suggestions regarding good governance will be invited from people of the state, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said during the state level ‘good governance day’ programme in Gurugram on Wednesday.

The state government has planned to launch a dedicated website for this purpose on which people can upload their suggestions. The government will consider the best suggestion received on the website.

Making a slew of announcements aimed at motivating government employees, chief minister Khattar said three categories of awards for the outstanding employees, including three awards within the department, three awards from all offices in each district and three at the state-level will be given.

A total of 500 awards will be given to the employees on December 25, 2020.

The programme was telecast live in all 22 districts, sub divisions, tehsils and blocks through web cast, a government spokesperson said.

Stating that his government has taken several pro-employee decisions, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said Haryana is the first state in the country to give benefit of the 7th pay commission to its employees.

Fair and prompt delivery of services, he said, is good governance in a real manner.

“People elected their representatives with some aspirations and it is the responsibility of government employees and officers to provide the common masses uninterrupted services nearest to their home,” he added.

Describing corruption as a menace, Khattar said minimising human interface and adopting e-governance can go a long way in eradicating it. “Besides, discretionary power should also be reduced,” he added.

The chief minister said Haryana does not belong to a single person but it is a state of 2.75 crore people. “It is the responsibility of more than 3.50 lakh employees of the state government to take the state to new heights of development, progress and prosperity,” he said.

The chief minister also interacted with the employees of various districts through video conferencing.

Earlier, CM Khattar launched five new e-initiatives including website of 22 districts, addition of 42 new schemes and services on the saral portal, lokayukt portal, integration of 91 tehsils to web halris and digital map of Sirsi village in Karnal district to make the village free from lal dora.

“The state government has developed 22 district websites using a secure platform,” the spokesperson said.

All websites have an inbuilt content management system which enables nodal officers to easily manage and update the contents on respective website. With the launch of additional 42 new schemes and services on Saral portal, the number of such schemes and services has reached to 527.

These schemes and services pertaining to the 38 departments, boards and corporations are being provided to the citizens through more than 6,000 Atal Seva Kendras and 115 Antyodaya Kendras throughout 22 districts of the state.

Khattar also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of three projects in Gurugram, including Modern Record Room, Antyodaya Saral Kendra Wazirabad and foundation stone of Antyodya Saral Kendra in Palam Vihar, Gurugram.
