Haryana logs 27 deaths, 1,604 fresh virus cases

CHANDIGARH: Haryana on Monday reported 27 more Covid-19 deaths, taking the death toll to 2,428, while 1,604 fresh cases pushed the state’s infection tally to 2,34,126, according to a state health department daily bulletin.

The fatalities included eight from Faridabad, four each from Gurgaon, Hisar and Bhiwani and three from Panipat, it said.

The bulletin said that among the districts which reported a big spike in cases were Gurgaon (494), Faridabad (338), Sonipat (110) and Hisar (102).The active cases in the state currently stand at 18,362 while the recovery rate is 91.12 percent, it said.

10 deaths, 515 new cases in Himachal

DHARAMSHAL­A: Himachal Pradesh on Monday recorded 515 fresh Covid-19 infections taking the state’s tally to 40,518 while the death toll mounted to 635 as ten more patients succumbed to the contagion.

Of the new cases, 183 were reported in Shimla, 98 in Kangra, 63 in Solan, 41 in Mandi, 39 in Bilaspur, 34 in Kullu, 26 in Una, 19 in Sirmaur and 12 in Chamba. There are 8,289 active cases in the state while 31,548 people have recovered till date. As many as 855 recoveries were recorded on Monday. A total of 5,29,355 tests have been conducted in the state.

J&K registers 9 deaths, 370 new virus cases

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded nine deaths and 370 fresh coronaviru­s infections, taking the tally of positive cases to 1,10,224 and the death toll has risen to 1,694.

Officials said 189 people tested positive in Kashmir and 181 in Jammu. Six persons succumbed to the disease in Jammu and three in Kashmir.

Also, 483 more patients have been cured, taking overall recoveries to 1,03,565. The recovery rate is 93.95% and there are 4,965 active cases.
