Season of switches in J&K

-

Political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have started changing sides from the last couple of months. Already, many leaders left their parties and join new ones and the trend is expected to pick up in coming weeks. Unlike the past when there was a beeline of leaders to join the National Conference, People’s Democratic Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of polls, politicians are joining either Sajjad Lone’s People’s Conference or the Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari this time. An indication that politicians feel these parties could be in a position to be on the winning side whenever polls are held in J&K. Among the leaders who joined the new parties are former legislators and ministers.
