3 trucks carrying rice from outside Punjab seized

CHANDIGARH : The food and civil supplies department on Sunday seized three trucks carrying 800 quintals of rice being brought to Punjab illegally from other states for recycling and bogus billing. Food and civil supplies minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said two trucks have been seized at Moonak in Sangrur while a third one has been seized at Shambhu border, Patiala. Ashu said trucks seized at the Moonak border were carrying rice from JP Dewal Rice Mill, Banda city of Shahjahanpur, in the name of Shiv Shankar Enterprises of Jakhal Mandi, Haryana. Police have registered case under Sections 420 and 120 of Indian Penal Code at the Moonak police station.
