BATHINDA: India’s leading e-governance services network, AISECT, has taken charge of UID enrolment in three zones of Punjab to facilitate people of the state to register themselves for aadhar cards.

These zones are Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr, where people can get themselves registered for aadhar cards.

AISECT’s Common Service Centre (CSC) project is already on in Punjab, which started in 2011 with 585 service centres in these three zones. Issues related to aadhar card were resolved by these CSCs.

Now, CSC e- Governance Services India Limited or CSCSPV has been appointed as a registrar by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Speaking at the launch of the three UID enrolment centres, AISECT director Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “We are glad to contribute this massive aadhar drive by undertaking the UID enrolments in Punjab. AISECT will leave no stone unturned to complete the enrolment process within the envisaged time.”

He said, “Our motive is to provide aadhar cards without any hassle and to look into the issues related to it. We believe in maintaining smooth and swift

process in issuing the cards to people.”

He added that apart from enrolments, they were empowering the localities by providing them with digital literacy, then getting them certified and deploying them at their enrolment stations as per the guidelines prescribed by UIDAI.

AISECT will work closely with CSCSPV in developing enrolment schedules and creating enrolment publicity and awareness at grassroots level.

AISECT will also take corrective action in case of quality deviations and redress grievances and ensure safe handling of documents and transfer of the same to the registrar/ UIDAI.

UID enrolment is the latest project added to AISECT’s long list of social initiatives undertaken through its network of centres working in India.

“From anywhere anyone can come for registration; our aim is to provide aadhar cards to the public,” said director, business services, AISECT, Abhishek Pandit.
