CRIMINAL WANTED BY DELHI POLICE HELD IN JHAJJAR

ROHTAK: The Haryana police arrested a wanted criminal, accused in two murder cases in Delhi, in Jhajjar district on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Sahil of Nanak Heri viilage of Delhi. Police said he was booked by the Delhi police for murdering two men of his village over an alleged family dispute.

Jhajjar SP Jashandeep Singh said a police team conducting a regular checking near Dadri bypass got suspicious when Sahil started running after seeing them. He was chased and was nabbed by the police. The police recovered a country-made pistol and some cartridges from his possession.

The SP said that during interrogat­ion, the accused revealed that he had murdered a man, Devender, of his village on July 23, 2015. He also killed another fellow villager, identified as Ramesh, on June 16 this year.

Two cases of murder and illegal possession of weapons were registered against him by the Delhi police. He was recently declared a proclaimed offender and the Delhi police had announced a reward of `25,000 for giving informatio­n about him, police said.

They said Sahil was produced in a local court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
