Haryana jails to get `50,000 each for literary, religious books
CHANDIGARH: Haryana urban local bodies minister Kavita Jain has decided to give `50,000 each to 19 district jails out of her discretionary funds, to make aliterary and religious books vailable to prisoners.
An official release said on Wednesday that the jail superintendents would constitute committees for purchase of literature for jail libraries for which the grant would be released directly to jail superintendents at the earliest.
She said that it was the responsibility of the government to connect every citizen of the state with its cultural heritage.
