Gangster Kala Sekhon, two accomplice­s held in Faridkot

Kala Sekhon was listed in b-category gangster lists prepared by Punjab police which includes gangster wanted in murder, attempt to murder, snatching and dacoity while gangster involves deadly gang-wars, heinous crime, extortion, across the state came in A category.

The police also recovered the .32 bore country-made weapon along with four live cartridges and rods.

Superinten­dent of police (SP investigat­ion) Sewa Singh said the police have nabbed the gangster from Aaraiya Wala Kalan in Faridkot on a tip-off.

The SP said Sekhon came out of the Faridkot jail on bail in September. He was active in the district from past 10 years. He was convicted in four cases while also got 10-year jail in an attempt to murder case of 2011. Sekhon was associated with Kala Nepali Gang, said the police.

A case was registered against the gangsters under Sections 399 (conspiring to turn to dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act at Sadar police station in Faridkot. COPS CRACKDOWN On September 29, gangster Ramandeep Singh, alias Ramana Sekhon, an aide of notorious gangster Goru Bacha, was arrested.

Police sources say that at present two gangsters, Tirath Dhelwan and Sema Behbal, are active in the district. The district police have either arrested or eliminated seven gangsters since January.
