Modi, Shah, Yogi rallies next week

SHIMLA:Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address rallies on November 4 in Himachal Pradesh. While Modi will start his campaign from Fatehpur in Kangra, the Congress is yet to finalise the constituen­cy for Sonia Gandhi’s rally.

The BJP, which has failed to placate rebels in Fatehpur, Chamba, Renuka and Palampur, is now planning rallies of star campaigner­s in these areas.

Besides the Prime Minister, the BJP’s star campaigner­s include Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, Uttarakhan­d chief minister Trivendra Rawat, VK Singh, Smriti Irani, Uma Bharti, Manohar Lal Khattar, Vijay Sampla and Manoj Tiwari.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start his campaign from Rehan in Fatehpur on November 2. The same day, he would address another rally in Dhaulakuan in Nahan assembly segment in Sirmaur district.

Union health minister JP Nadda said during a press conference that the PM is scheduled to come on October 4 and 5 but the party is yet to announce the plan.

Nadda further said that the BJP has not declared a CM face in Himachal Pradesh as part of its strategy. “We did not declare a CM face in any state,” he said.

Meanwhile, Congress MP and the party’s Himachal co-incharge Ranjeet Ranjan said the Himachal election will be a “Virbhadra Singh vs Narendra Modi” contest. She also informed that Sonia Gandhi would address rallies on November 4 while Rahul on November 6.
