Hry govt to get 11 Manesar land registries cancelled
As per Gurugram DC, this land was acquired and its proprietary rights were given to HSIIDC and the registries were in violation of Supreme Court order
CHANDIGARH : The Haryana government has initiated the process to get cancelled all the 11 registries of land in Manesar, which were done against the judgment of the Supreme Court and action will be taken against those involved in selling government land fraudulently.
Stating that the ‘intekal’ of the said deals which were registered had been cancelled, Vinay Pratap Singh, deputy commissioner (DC), Gurugram, said on Thursday that as per judgment of the apex court delivered in March this year, land was acquired in Manesar and the proprietary rights were given to the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).
However, the earlier owner sold this land to another person and got the registry done. Taking note of this, the state government, on the basis of a preliminary inquiry, suspended the tehsildar, kanungo and patwari concerned. The naib-tehsildar has been chargesheeted and departmental proceedings were being carried out against him. Also, the services of data entry operator involved in this matter had been terminated, he said.
In reply to a question, Singh said a proposal had been sent to the state government to prevent development of illegal colonies in the district under which, no-objection certificate (NOC) from the town and country planning department would be made mandatory for registry of land less than two kanals.
To another question, he said that under the Defence Act, construction is prohibited within 900-m radius of an ammunition depot, and a case regarding this was also under consideration in Punjab and Haryana high court.
The committee constituted by the central government had given in-principle approval by reducing the restricted radius from 900 m 300 m. On the order of the court, a survey of the properties located within 300-m radius in Gurugram was carried out by the municipal corporation (MC) to determine the compensation for those properties, he said.
Since the case of construction within 900-m radius of ammunition depot had attracted stay orders from the high court, no new construction work was permitted within that radius, the DC added.
