BATHINDA WOMAN DIES OF DENGUE AT PGIMER
BATHINDA::EVEN as the number of dengue patients in the district is on the rise, a woman who was undergoing treatment for the mosquito-borne disease died in Chandigarh on Friday.
Pallavi, 30, a resident of Amrik Singh Road here, died during treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, on Friday. She was initially admitted to a private hospital in Bathinda, before being taken to the PGIMER.
As per Bathinda civil surgeon Hari Narain Singh, 477 cases of dengue have been reported in the district till Friday. He, however, said no dengue death has yet been confirmed.
Besides Bathinda, Mansa and Faridkot are also in the grip of dengue. Faridkot has witnessed 530 cases with five suspected deaths, of which three were from Kotkapura town alone. Praveen Kumar of Kotkapura had died of suspected dengue on Wednesday. In Mansa, nearly 700 dengue cases have been detected this season and three people have reportedly died of the disease. Kulwinder Singh of Mansa died on Wednesday.
