CHANDIGARH : Haryana Congress on Friday held protests and demonstrations across different parts of the state to mark two years of demonetisation. Alleging that demonetisation had increased unemployment and created various problems for the people, state party chief Ashok Tanwar said in a statement here that contrary to its projection, the demonetisation paved the way to fake currency and terrorism.

Tanwar alleged that the note ban damaged national economy as in Gurugram alone, 79% dailywage workers lost their jobs. “The hard-earned money of the common man got deposited in the banks and crony tycoons were given big bank loans to escape abroad,” he alleged.
