NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old man, working as a domestic help on daily wage at Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa’s government accommodation in Lutyens’ Delhi, allegedly committed suicide at the servant quarters on Thursday.

Police said the domestic help, identified as Manoj Kumar, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the servant quarters that was found latched from inside when a police team reached there after being informed about the incident. Kumar did not stay in the servant quarters, the police said.

The police did not suspect any foul play. No suicide note was found from the room or Kumar’s possession, the police said.

Deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) Madhur Verma said that Kumar was upset about some personal issues and was suffering from depression. Police spoke with his family members and they told them that Kumar was undergoing treatment for his mental stress.
