a murder case has been slapped against them at Police Post Pounichak, a police officer said.

Langar was murdered a day before his daughter’s marriage at KK Resorts in Udehywala area of the city on Wednesday by three drunk criminals after he objected to their entry where Mehndi ceremony of his daughter was being performed.

Langar was taken to GMC hospital where doctors declared him dead, police said.

Meanwhile, All Parties’ Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC)—A frontal organisation of Kashmiri Pandits, on Friday condemned brutal murder of Langar and sought a special investigation team to bring culprits to book.

In a statement APMCC chairman Vinod Pandit and national spokesperson King C Bharati while condemning the criminal act have sought immediate constitution of special investigation team (SIT) to probe the motive behind the murder and send the criminals to jail.

The leaders have also sought immediate compensation to the family and closure of public bars at every banquet hall to prevent such incidents in future.

The leaders said that the management of the resort was equally responsible for the murder by continuing a public bar at the banquet hall and not providing adequate security to the families that hire their halls for marriages.
