EX­PRESS TRAIN LINK­ING ALL TAKHTS STARTS FROM JAN 14

CHANDI­GARH : Union min­is­ter for rail­ways Piyush Goyal has given a green sig­nal to the long-stand­ing de­mand of the Sikh com­mu­nity to start an Ex­press train link­ing all the holy Sikh Takhts, with the first such train to start from Jan­uary 14, 2019.

Dis­clos­ing this, Union min­is­ter for food pro­cess­ing in­dus­tries min­is­ter Har­sim­rat Kaur Badal said the train chris­tened the “Panj Takht Ex­press” would start from the Delhi Safder­jung sta­tion and re­turn after ten days touch­ing all the Takhts. A ticket would cost ₹15,750.

TWO TRAINS TO NOW STOP AT BEAS

The rail­ways min­is­ter has also ap­proved a stop for the Kolkataam­rit­sar-dur­giana Ex­press and the Nag­pur-am­rit­sar AC Ex­press at the Beas sta­tion. A stop at these trains was the long pend­ing de­mand for peo­ple want­ing to visit the Radha Soami Sat­sang head­quar­ters at Beas. Har­sim­rat had writ­ten a let­ter to the min­is­ter for this.
